Vehicle carrying exam papers swept by floods in Kenya

A vehicle ferrying KCSE examination papers to a school in Mwingi Central, Kitui County, was today morning swept by flooding waters at River Karura.

The vehicle was transporting Maths paper II and Biology paper I exams to Wikithuki Secondary School when it was overwhelmed by ravaging waters caused by the ongoing heavy downpour in Mwingi.

The KCSE exam papers were safely salvaged from the vehicle by local residents who joined the rescue mission.

Kitui County Commissioner Boaz Cherutich said that the school’s head teacher and the driver were rescued safely, although the starting time of the papers was delayed.
