Uganda, Kampala- Opposition legislators have started their nationwide campaign to mobilise Ugandans against the proposed scrapping of the presidential age limit. President Yoweri Museveni who has ruled Uganda for 31 years is pushing for the amendment to extend his stay in power once he clocks the 75 year age limit.

“You should resist this amendment that seeks to introduce life presidency,” she said.

Kiiza explained article 102 (B) is the only remaining safeguard against life presidency in Uganda. Article 102 (b) caps the president’s age at 75 years.
