Aid agencies working with Rohingya Muslim refugees in Bangladesh say they’ve already documented almost 1300 children who’ve arrived in the last three weeks, without parents or relatives.
Some are as young as three years old. A child protection worker with UNICEF revealed that, in some cases the children’s parents were killed in Myanmar.
Others became separated from their families during the long, chaotic journey. The children are being looked after by other families as the agencies try to reunite them with relatives.
