A section of pro government leaders in Kenya have dismissed the swearing in of Kenya’s main opposition leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday terming it “laughable”.
The jubilee leaders led by Senate deputy speaker Prof Kithure Kindiki and Governors Ferdinand Waititu of Kiambu and Mwangi wa Iria of Muranga, dismissed the so called swearing of the people’s president, saying the move is laughable and comic.
Speaking at Gatukuyu and Nyaga grounds during the launch of the tarmac work on Gatukuyu-Mataara and Kihonyo-Nyaga roads in Kiambu and Muranga Counties respectively on Thursday, attended by Deputy President William Ruto, the leaders wondered what and for whom Mr. Odinga was president for.
The Deputy President weighed in on the matter describing it as a meaningless comic relief which is over now.
The leaders said the Kenyan constitution was clear on the process of arriving at a President in Kenya and that Kenyan citizens only recognize Uhuru Kenyatta as the legitimate President.
“We are now happy that Nasa is dead and Kenyans can now focus their attention on matters of development,’ said Prof Kindiki.
