The National Media Group-NMG Chief Executive Officer, Joseph Muganda has resigned effective January 31st 2018. A brief statement from NMG, says the Group Finance Director, Francis Gitagama will take over as the group seeks a new CEO.
Muganda joined NMG in July 2015 and has successfully presided over the business re-engineering strategy to position the company firmly on the digital platform. “Mr. Muganda has aggressively driven our product portfolio review, presided over a general restructuring and reoriented the business to seize opportunities presented by the digital disruption in the media,” said the NMG Chairman, Wilfred Kiboro.
Adding that, “He will leave a learner, nimbler organisation whose future commercial success is already evident in the positive trajectory or returns from the investment in digital initiatives.” According to sources, Muganda is set to join Vivo Energy in early 2018.
Muganda holds an MBA from Leicester University and a Bachelor of Science (Economics, Accounting and Financial Management) from the University of Buckingham (UK). He has previously worked as the Managing Director of Kenya Breweries Limited and has held senior positions at British America Tobacco, Unilever and Barclays Bank.
