Nairobi Man Accused of Bigamy

Man accused of bigamy

A middle aged man has appeared in court in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi for bigamy. Abdulaziz Mohammed Abdul is accused of entering into an Islamic marriage with Wahida Nuhr Mohammed on November 19th, 2017 well knowing he was still legally married to Khimji Vadgama.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge before Christine Njagi, the Milimani Senior Resident Magistrate and was released on bail. Njagi ordered Mohammed to execute a non-cash bond of Kenya Shillings 50,000 with an alternative of Shillings 30,000 in cash.

She ordered the suspect to return to court on Monday for the mention of his case. Bigamy refers to marrying someone while she is still married legally to another person.
