Tanzania’s president John Magufuli has made a mini reshuffle of his cabinet. The announcement was made today in Tanzania’s commercial city of Dar es Salaam.
Two ministries have been split into four, that is the ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
Dr. Medad Matogoro is appointed as the Minister for Energy while Angela Kairuki is the new minister for Mineral Resources. Before the split of this ministry, it was left vacant
Prof. Sospeter Muhongo. Prof. Muhongo resigned some three months ago after he was told by president Magufuli to reconsider his position after he was implicated in the mineral sand saga report.
The president also, increased the number of his cabinet from 19 to 21 ministries and five more deputy positions.
The former Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Prof. Jumanne Maghembe, has been left out from the list of newly appointed ministers.
Those will be sworn in on Monday morning at State House.
