Local Tourists Flood Kenya’s Coast Ahead of Christmas

Christmas season

Just few days before Christmas and New Year celebrations across the country, a section of hotels in the coastal city of Mombasa have already started recording 77 percent bed occupancy.

According to hoteliers led by Travellers beach hotel general manager Fred Kiuru the number is expected to rise to 100 percent in few days from today.

On the other hand, he disclosed that most of the bookings are dominated by local tourists from upcountry and those from neighboring countries which include Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda.

This comes as a number of guests from neighboring countries including a Tanzanian musician RAY -C jetted in the coastal city of Mombasa for a series of performance during Christmas and New Year celebrations.

At the same time, coast event organizer Dickson Waweru cautioned drivers on proper road usage in a bid to curb accidents that have left several people dead including Eldoret musician Cheruitot also known as Kenene.

A section of tourists from up country, Denmark and united states said they are comfortable and enjoying to be in the coastal city of Mombasa.
