Leaders across the political divide have congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga for being statesmen following their talks.
Deputy President William Ruto says the two have risen to the moment for the country and against hate, negative ethnicity and division.
The DP says the unity, stability and transformation of Kenya supersedes all other partisan interests.
On his part Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has applauded the move saying it will unite the country.
Other leaders include, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri, and ODM’s nominated Member of parliament Rosa Nyamunga who say the move will ensure Kenyans live harmoniously and therefore spur development.
However, the self declared NRM-K general Miguna Miguna who was deported to Canada three weeks ago in his statement has condemned the move.
Miguna termed the reconciliation between Uhuru and Raila as the greatest betrayal of Kenyans citizens vowing that he will soldier on with fight against injustices.
